Measure

First you’ll need to take a few measurements to determine the size of your curtain rod and panels. Generally, it’s more visually appealing to hang the rod on the wall above and outside the window molding. Drywall is also easier to repair and paint than wood molding should you decide to change the look of your window down the road.

Using your tape measure and the suggestions below, you can measure out and up from the window frame, making light pencil marks to show where you want to hang your rod.

Width: To make the window feel grander and to let more light in, add 3 to 6 inches beyond the window frame on each side.

Stain Buster — Baby Formula

There is nothing worse than ruining one of your baby’s best outfits with a baby food stain.Babies do not have control over their bodily functions and they often spill food as well.  Here are some of the methods I’ve found in this articles which are very helpful.

Fabric

1. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover containing enzymes or soak for at least 30 minutes in a solution using an enzyme laundry detergent.

2. Launder.

3. If the stain remains, let the item air-dry, and then treat again with a prewash stain remover.

4. Launder, using hot water and chlorine bleach, if safe for the fabric.

Upholstery

1. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of cool water.

2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.

3. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the stain disappears.

5. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.

Carpet

1. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water.

2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.

3. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the stain disappears or is no longer absorbed into the cloth.

5. If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of ammonia (Caution: Never mix chlorine bleach and ammonia — the resulting fumes are hazardous) with two cups of warm water.
